Another weekend gone
Why do the hours between 6pm on a Friday and 9.30am on a Monday fly by so quickly? One of those questions that will never be satisfactorily answered – rhetorical if you will.
Friday night Pointi and I did the rounds of the accessories areas of Top Shop and H&M. To all the chickadees back home, you would possibly girly-squeal with excitement at both of these shops – they kick Sportsgirl and similar to the curb.
Saturday had a beautifully lazy day. Woke up at the ridiculous time of 6.30am but it was such a magnificent morning I didn’t want to waste it. Went for a little walk and then met up with Pointi for a champagne breakfast at The Baring. The booze was unintentional – it was offered to us for free, so it would have been rude to refuse.
After breakfast we wandered up to Essex Road where Pointi collected a box from her Mum full of clothes. It was like Christmas morning, except the sleazy post office worker was nothing like Santa. Saturday afternoon was spent at The New Rose; laughs, drama over yonder, great conversation and Dr Magners.
Saturday night was our friend Jade’s 30th – she wanted to see all of her friends (well the girls at least) in dresses so I had my favourite shipped over from Oz for the occasion. Have you ever gone somewhere and felt like the most overdressed person??? Yeah, well now I can claim that I have too… Half the girls weren’t even wearing dresses and most of the boys were all in their usual slop. Oh well, at least my London friends have actually seen me looking like a ‘real’ girl for once pffffft. Finished the night dancing to Layo and Bushwacka playing their monthly all night set at The End – absolutely thumping set. Terrific stuff.
Yesterday was stolen from us by the sleeping fairies – didn’t wake up until 3pm, how ridiculous is that?? Such lovely plans all went to waste, still managed a great afternoon/ evening though – slightly delirious from oversleeping but a healthy dose of good tuneage a couple of lazy Magners took the sting out.
Sorry this has been a pretty boring post… Hopefully something random or hilarious will happen to me this week that I can report.
xx
PS – Can everyone please swing some positive thoughts my Grandpa John’s way? He is really not well and I so wish I could be back home to visit him and be with my family right now.
